ABOUT ST. THOMAS EPISCOPAL SCHOOL

St. Thomas Episcopal School was founded as an outreach program of St. Thomas Episcopal Church.

The church was founded at the corner of Loop 1604 and US Highway 281 North in 1966, serving the north San Antonio area. In 1974, the school began as a Mother's Day Out program with 32 children of the ages of three and four. Through the years, the school grew from it's roots as a Mother's Day Out program to a Preschool and beyond. In 1997 STES had its first fifth grade graduating class which continued until 2018.  Today, St. Thomas Episcopal School serves students from age 18 months through age five.

ABOUT THOMAS

Thomas the Apostle, also called Doubting Thomas or Didymus (meaning "Twin," as does "Thomas" in Aramaic) was one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus. He is best known for questioning Jesus' resurrection when first told of it, then proclaiming "My Lord and my God" on seeing Jesus in John 20:28. Traditionally he is said to have traveled outside the Roman Empire to preach the Gospel traveling as far as India.
